Table tennis is the number 1 activity that I
waited the most during college week. I wanted to play because that is my sport.
I wanted to play because for 3 months I am away from it, being busy in school
stuffs is the top reason. Lastly, I wanted to play because I miss seeing people
having fun playing table tennis. However, I lost my interest playing, not
because I get tired of it, but because of how the organizers handled the table
tennis competition.
During the college week, there are lots of
organizers that pissed me off but let me focus on table tennis organizers. I believe
that the organizers did not plan well for the event, why? First, they did not
make sure that there would be participants, on the day of the event no one came,
well except me of course. And since no one came the event was rescheduled which
is quite disappointed because it shows that they didn't give a time to promote
the game, it is like “ Hey, since you won on your course’ sportfest, you will
be playing on the college week.” And lastly, they already failed on organizing
the game yet even on facilitating? Seriously speaking, it is us, the varsity
team are the one who provided the offi cial pingpong balls to be used for the
games, where is the preparation there?
On handling events, every single thing must be
observed. Every detail must be perfect because that is the task of organizers.
If you fail on preparation then I could say you are not an effective handler.
We shouldn't always rely on someone's help because there will be no improvement
on your performance. They said, "No man is an island," yes it is, but
that does not mean you always depend on the others, learn to survive on your
own capability because at the end each of us will have our own business.
