Spotted: Paddington at APC, waiting patiently

Hello readers! DCN here. And I have here the biggest update ever. Spotted at Asia Pacific College: Paddington in town.

Paddington is a 2014 British-French live action/computer animated family comedy film. It is directed by Paul King; written by King and Hamish McColl, and produced by David Heyman. The story of Paddington was based on the Paddington Bear of Michael Bond. It all started with a British geographer, Montgomery Clyde, as he explores the deep jungles of darkest Peru for his research of unknown species of bears.

As the progress on Montgomery’s escapade, he found a bear and he was about to shoot it to take back a specimen in England, however, another play full bear appeared and took his gun. And that is where he learned that this family of bears are intelligent and can learn English, and that they have a deep appetite for marmalade. He named that two bears of Lucy and Pastuzo.

Too bad, I won’t tell everything, you guys must watch it. Anyway, I will introduce to you Paddington. He is a bear who was involuntarily travelled to London to find home. Unluckily he failed, however, the Brown Family adopts him and named him after the Paddington Station, where they found him. To tell you honestly, some of the Brown member did not like him, like Mr. Brown for he believe that Paddington is prone to danger and does not fit to live with people. But at the end, he became part of them, who would badge to kick him out if he is irresistible bear. Paddington loves the Brown Family so much and so as they love Paddington.

At first, people may not want you, but for surely sooner or later they would appreciate your existence and love you more than you ever thought. That is one of the rules in life; you must experience first the darkness before you could see the brightness because you cannot say that you are in brightness when you have not experience the darkness yet. In all thing there must be the opposite; love and hate, noticed and ignored, and lastly the bright and dark.

Day 2: Too cheerful, get high

Hello readers! DCN here. And I have here the biggest update ever. For the nth time I had a wonderful day as a college student.

Oh my gosh! Finally the long wait is over. As for today’s event, I almost lost my voice, I really thought I am going to be voice less for days; cheer at the top of my lungs, shout till I can, and perform at all finest. Surely, today will be added on my “Most memorable days” list.

Today, great things happened at once; Jod won the Championship on Public Speaking, Wella won the Logo making contest, Gem won the Championship on Ignite speaking, and the last but not the least, we-ABMA 151 won the 2nd place on Speech Choir, our block may not able to attain the Championship but at least new honor to our block was added. But honestly speaking, we didn’t expect to win; we do not want to be disappointed again for the 2nd time around. I still remember, way back in SOMA Days, we all expect that its either of the groups in block will win but it turns out not, and that is our most heartbreaking experience, but look we had a comeback debut, better than ever. And also, we know on our selves that our outcome may not be enough for the champion award, why? It is because we just started patching things up about speech choir 2 weeks before the competition day, we even had a misunderstanding yesterday and not able to do the practice for the last time.

I still cannot believe that in one day 4 blessings came in our block, the ABMA 151. Anyways, I fully give my gratitude to Gem, Jod, Wella and of course to ourselves for making things impossible happen. And I wish that there would be no R remarks on my grades this end of school year. I could say that, in struggles unity and cooperativeness and also praying matters the most. It helps people to be able to express their best among the bests they had.

Day 1: Have fun

Hello readers! DCN here. And I have here the biggest update ever. For the nth time I had a wonderful day as a college student.
Yesterday, April 20, 2016, public speaking was held at Auditorium of Asia Pacific College. Seriously speaking, at first, it was too boring; there are too many dead airs, students are not yet fully awake, or maybe because there are too much talk, you know, the opening ceremonies for formality.
After the opening ceremonies, contestants of the day were given some instructions and asked to go to there designated rooms for elimination round. Finally! The fun is up. The ERC minions (Speaks Org.) together with Ms. Nina De Leon made some fun games; the first one is called Speaks’ Speeches, the rule for this game is continue talking as per every minute the facilitators were giving new topic every 30 seconds, easy as that. However, there must be a smooth transition or else there’s a big chance that you will lose the game. And by the way, the content of your speech can be nonsense, the crazy it is the better, this time ERC will allow informality, kidding. So, the winner on that game is Marlou Macalalad, which happen to be my block mate and friend. Second, a debate, well it is too much fun, why? Just like what I said, ERC will allow informality, rather “allowed.” There are 3 sets of debaters, however, I cannot discuss about the first two sets since I don’t know them. As I was saying, the 3rd set wherein it is girls vs. boys, the girls are my block mates and friends; G-Anne and Gem. Their topic is about “Which is better, heels or sneakers?” Wait, the fun is not yet done because there is a twist, the girls will defend the sneakers and the boys are on heels. And of course, girls won, after all we-girls really don’t like heels and boys wouldn’t dare to wear heels, that are so gay for them, I guess.
After the fun time, finally! The finalist were decided and announced, luckily we had two block mates got in, Jod and Jeva. So as the starter, Jeva stand on stage and face everyone with full of confidence; she delivered her speech flawless or maybe it is not, if it is well congrats to her, her flaw/s are not even noticed. And for Jod, he did a great job in any aspect; his movements, his voice, and even his speech delivery are all great. No doubt that the two of them made it to the final round. Ow, I am not saying that those who didn’t made it are not good, it's just that there are things that are not meant for us, better luck next time.

Spotted the new guy: Benjamin Alves

Hello readers! DCN here. And I have here the biggest update ever. My ow so great experience, Benjamin Alves spotted at Asia Pacific College.

We all know that Benjamin Alves is one of the celebrities from GMA and played the character of Andrew Cesario in “Sana Dati," who happened to die early as a sick good brother, independent event videographer and a lovely boyfriend in the movie, that won the 2013 Cinemalaya Best Film award. However, who would have thought that the role of Benjamin Alves we can see in the movie and the real Benjamin Alves has the same personality?
Honestly speaking, it is a great opportunity to meet a guy like him, which I consider as totally down to earth man. It is so rare that a handsome and talented celebrity like Benjamin would share his blessings to everyone, and take note! He didn’t even think twice to share what he has. Like last March 18, 2016, aside from celebrating his birthday; Well, I’m sure it happened with so much joy till the end; just too bad for me I left early for some reasons. So let’s go back to what I am really talking about, so as I what I am talking, he did not just celebrated his birthday at Asia Pacific College but also shared his another talent aside from acting, which is writing a poem.
Benjamin Alves is considered as a poet, well no doubt about that, after all he is totally good about it. In fact, he graduated as a Summa um laude at the University of Guam with a degree in literature, how awesome that is, right? Let me tell you this, on that same day, he is the judge of slam poetry, well it is a small slam poetry event, so as I was saying, he is the judge there and guess what? He didn’t choose a one winner group he rather said “Ayokong mamili, para sakin LAHAT SILA MAGALING AT PANALO, masyado nila akong pinabilib.” Some may say that it’s just his sweet words without sincerity, but I tell you, that moment, I really saw the glimpse of amazed in his beautiful eyes. Benjamin Alves is truly an example of the so-called one of a kind person, not just a person but also a poet and celebrity.

Changes hurt bigtime

Sana dati is a 2013 Filipino romantic drama film written and directed by Jerrold Tarog. The film is all about a woman who stalls her big wedding when a guy with camera shows up and reminds her of a love she once had. It is the final installment to Tarog’s Camera trilogy that includes Confessional (2007) and The Blood Trail (2009). The film competed under the Directors Showcase sidebar of Cinemalaya 2013. The film won Best Film and other technical awards at the festival’s awards night.

Sana dati is one of the Filipino movies that give me lessons and strikes my point of view in life. It teaches me to stand on my own decisions, whether I like it or not I must face it. Like what Andrea Gonzaga (Lovi Poe) did, she deals with her decision as she chose marrying Robert Naval (TJ Trinidad). She chose to live happily with Robert and let everything her and ex fiancée, Andrew Cesario (Benjamin Alves), go. However, letting go is not easy as it looks like, because moving on requires a procedures with barriers. Before the wedding start, a camera man showed up and he resembles Andrew a lot which give a hard time to Andrea. Dennis Cesario (Paulo Avelino) is the younger brother and who continued the legacy of Andrew. Andrea sees and feels Andrew on Dennis which makes her remember her past with Andrew, seeing Dennis triggers Andrea to delay her wedding. Despite of those barriers, at the end, Andrea still fulfilled her decision; she got married with Robert and able to start moving on.
In conclusion, Sana dati is a film that inspire us to continue with our life because everyone can feel the agony it just so happened that everything depends on how we handle it. Andrea chose to start fresh and new life with Robert, and so as Dennis as he continue the legacy of his brother. They all moved on but that doesn’t mean they will leave Andrew behind. Always remember, moving on doesn’t mean forgetting the past, but rather accepting the present and the reality.
