One for all, All for one

AB-MA 151 can you follow me? Yes, huh. The most memorable line that I remember not because it sounds funny but it gives me an idea what ABMA 151 is. By hearing that line it reminds of leadership. It is like asking “Hey girl, can you do what I did? Cause if not try harder.” In deed ABMA 151 is a leader.

They say being too many in a group is hard but for us? No way! We are taking it as an obstacle game were everyone is a player. A player that listen to each of us. There is no leader, I mean err the boss be like,  we always try to reach each other’s opinion. A one brain in a big group is suicidal thing so it is better to have tons of brain because as an artist we like having tons of ideas that needs to be share.

Helping, easy to say and so easy to do. Since 1st term I can say that helping each other is our forte. It’s not the common one where we give each other’s an answer rather we give a hint, a clue, and an idea. Cheating? Not every time, it is like once in a month, impossible? Nah it is possible for us. Our block is full of pride and ego, and no one will ever can ruin it.

Leadership in ABMA 151 which one of rare thing. We don’t do the bossing thingy, we help and support each other. Because being a leader is being the guide, right? You lead the people around you to reach your goal, your group’s goal, and that is to win. Leading is a hard task but with the support of everyone no challenge cannot be dare to finish. “Unity is strength.. when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved” by Mattie J.T. Stepanek.

The Teenage Life Journey

There's a girl namely Yanna Naesa who is now 17 years old and lives at Taguig City, she's so aloof with others. She doesn't want to be on crowd it makes her dizzy and that's because she's claustrophobic. She even barely talk not because she's bad breath but because she's afraid that no one will hear her out. Her fear was worst whenever she do presentations or reports in front of everyone, seeing everyone looking at her makes her knees weak and her to stutter while speaking. Everyone has different and unique experiences in life as we grow up, like Yanna.

For so many years it is rare to see her smiling not until the magical day happened, she was on a 4th grade at Villamor Air Base Elementary School when she had her friends at first those people were just nothing to her they are just her classmates. One day, they become circle of close friends, partners in crime, and a squad. There friendships were getting stronger not until the graduation came, they had no time to hang out until there friendships suddenly fade off. However, there's a certain person that she still has connection and that is Alicia. They become best of friends tho they do not frequently meet.

For her high school life she chose Sta. Clara Parish School. But for her it's a big wrong move especially accepting the offer of being a one of Business Students or so called pilot section. For her, she just bring herself on a prison, its not because of the school regulations but because the sets of her classmates have an obnoxious attitude. She has to deal with a bunch of brat students who were thinking that they knew everything, maybe its because they are on a pilot section or maybe because where they grew up. On the thought of going back to high school it gives her chill because she doesn't want to be bullied again and be with them.

Yanna's life as a teenager is like a roller coaster, it may have ups and downs but at the end you're happy. Experiences in life gives us lesson on good things and bad things, it is all up to you which one to choose to apply and remember for the rest of your life. Everyone needs to be with someone; a family, friends or love of your life. It may look like you want to be alone because of a dark experience but the truth is No Man is an Island. You have to be with others that you are compatible with to live happily.

For her college life as student as of now its fun. She has this thing so called Barkada, they have different traits, ups and downs but for her it's like they are meant to be with each other. They hangout a lot go to malls to eat or stay on their chamber, Jollibee. The chit chat on their group is non stop unless they are all sleepy.  She even had a two new best of friends, Cheza and George. She treat the as her new twin but this time they are two, not blood related but still she value them like her real twin brother who died when they were 7 years old.

Today's Decision

After watching The Parasyte, I therefore conclude that helping is not only about the blood related, most of the time it is how you care or important that certain person is. However, what if a person who’s not blood related nor an important to you is asking for you help. She is totally stranger to you would you ignore her even tho she needs your help the most?

As the time pass by our lifestyle practices are changing it may lead to good or bad, it defends on a person. And for the generation today, our practice on helping is getting worst, we choose whos and how to help or we may not choose but perform a  different qualities of help depends on a person seeking for your support: Example two person who are involve on a car accident, the first one is your mother who is unconscious and have small bruises and the second one is a pregnant stranger who is conscious and bleeding, so who to save first? Of course as a daughter you’ll save your mother first, because she’s your mother, period. The pregnant stranger? Im sure you’ll save her too but the main priority is your mother.

In terms of helping in any field majority choose to help relative first it is because loosing a family member or important person is a big loss to them, that is why a small help needed and asked by the relative they are openly prepared to help even tho the  huge help is right in front of them mourning for their help sometimes they choose to ignore and act as if they are not seeing the sorrow of others.

Too much care for family does not mean you are allowed to ignore others. Caring let people to choose how, who, and when to help depending on a situation not on a person. We are all equal and bias must not be perform when it comes to helping and other stuff.

Angela Manalang-Gloria and her Enthusiasm

Every talent may be discover anytime, like what happened to Angela Manalang-Gloria. Her talent in writing specifically on a poem was discovered during her senior year, the discovery happened during her studying at St. Scholastica’s College in Malate, Manila. She continued her passion when she was at University of the Philippines; at first she enrolled in law, as suggested by her father. However, she transferred to literature as what her professor and mentor, C.V Vicker advised. As the time passed by, her career on being a poet were blooming.

During her stay in UP, she worked with the Philippine Collegian as a literary editor, with Celedonio P. Gloria as editor-in-chief. Their friendship culminated in marriage. Subsequently, her husband, who finished the LL.B. in UP, went into law practice. She became editor of the Herald Mid-Week Magazine but had to resign six months later because of poor health. WWII came and her husband died. Her creative writing gradually diminished.

Angela was the author of a poem against the marital rape entitled as Revolt from Hymen,. The poem caused her denial  by an all-male jury from winning the Philippine’s Commonwealth Literary Awards in the year of 1940. On the same year, her list of poetry entitled as Poems was published and revised on the year of 1950. The collection contained the best of her early work as well as unpublished poems written between 1934-1938. Her last poem, Old Maid Walking on a City Street can also be found in the collection. This book was her entry to the Commonwealth Literary Awards, losing to Rafael Zulueta y da Costa's verse  Like the Molave.

Most of us follows our passion in life, no matter who dictate us and what people want us to be at the end it is still up to us what to choose. Passion, a thing that has been part of our life since birth that no one can change. May we be diverted but at the end it is what we are ending with. So, to ease things up, check your selves, rather ask "Have I discovered my passion or not yet?" if not then start finding for it, if yes go for it. It is not bad to be in a hurry discovering your passion besides you are looking for your lifetime interest.

Foul: Multiple Times

Plagiarism, it is an act of using other's idea or work without permission. But, can words and ideas really be stolen? According to U.S Law, it’s a yes, The expression of original ideas is considered intellectual property and is protected by copyright laws, just like original inventions. Almost all forms of expression fall under copyright protection as long as they are recorded in some way (such as a book or a computer file).

Many people may not be aware on there surroundings whether they’re doing plagiarism or not, so the following are all considered as plagiarism:
  •   Turning in someone else's work as your own
  •  Copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
  •        Failing to put a quotation marks
  •  Giving incorrect information about the source of quotation
  •  Changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit
  •  Copying so many words or ideas from source that it makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not

Plagiarism is also happening in music, movies and images. In a work you have done, without a proper permission or having a proper citation is called plagiarism. The following examples are very common for this generation.

  • Copying media from other websites then paste on your own papers or blogs
  •  Creating a video with some footages from others or using copyrighted music as soundtracks
  • Using a copyrighted music as a cover
  • Composing a music written by other compositor without permission
The following are also considered as Plagiarism:

  • Taking a photo or scanning of a book’s page
  • Recording a copyrighted music or video
  •   Re-creating visual works of others

For today's generation, I can say that everyone are performing plagiarism whatever the profession is; a student, a teacher, a doctor, and even a government officials, why? It is because by simply photocopying a book that is copyrighted or not yours you are automatically doing a plagiarism. And, even downloading a payable soundtracks from the internet for free is also called a plagiarism. People always try everything to make things in life easy, even it means of stealing.
